The youth ministry of Friendship Presbyterian Church seeks to create a loving community for middle and high school youth to be seen, known and loved, just as they are. All are welcome!
Our youth come from both public and private schools, representing all surrounding counties. We are lifelong Presbyterians as well as first timers to organized religion. We are athletes and theater kids, book readers and musicians. We are quiet and loud, curious and creative. But above all else, we are open, affirming and welcoming.

We meet on Sunday nights for Youth Group. Right now youth group is combined with both middle school and high school students. We start with dinner, then move into games, Bible Study, and great conversation.
In 2025-2026, we will also be offering Confirmation Class for any interested youth in 8th grade or older. Confirmation is an opportunity for youth to explore their faith, ask questions, learn about what it means to be Presbyterian, and discover where God is calling them to live into discipleship.
In addition to Sunday nights, we go on retreats, and host special big events that are open to youth from our Presbytery, to celebrate and live into being a Connectional Church!
- Fall Retreat: Heading to the river for a weekend of rafting and reflection
- Winter Retreat: Spending MLK Weekend in the NC mountains, skiing and serving
- Lenten Retreat: A weekend to focus on quiet, spiritual growth
- 30 Hour Famine: Fasting for 30 hours to raise awareness of hunger around the world
- Frozen Chosen Cup: A friendly competition between area youth groups!
Summer has us taking a break from regular Sunday night gatherings to attend Montreat Youth Conferences and mission trips.
